Wa, May 9 GNA- The Upper West Regional allocation of the fleet of tractors imported by the Government could not get to the farmers since they failed to meet the basic requirement of forming farming groups to benefit from the package.

Dr Francis Banka, a former Regional Director of Health announced this in Wa during a Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF), sponsored meeting of some 30 entrepreneurs engaged in small-scale industries. He called on the entrepreneurs to form viable cooperatives and associations in other to attract credit facilities and other assistance. Mr John Adzraki, an official of Association of Ghana Industries said the association was doing its best to dissuade the Government from imposing heavy taxes on small-scale industries.

"We shall also make sure that your produce will attract good market...you also need to come out with good quality products that will be in high demand," he said.

Mr Stephen Bemile, Senior Programmes officer of FNF said the foundation would assist the entrepreneurs to be economically independent through capacity building workshops and other training packages.
