Driver granted five million cedis bail for traffic offence

Cape coast, May 9, GNA - Omane Botwe, a 35-year-old driver was has been granted a five million cedis bail with a surety to be justified, a by a circuit court at Cape Coast for various traffic offences. Botwe, who pleaded guilty to parking at an authorized place and driving without a license would reappear on May 17. The accused told the court that the clutch of his vehicle developed a fault when he arrived at Kotokuraba compelling him to stop. The court presided over by Mr Mustapha Logoh, ordered that the car should be examined to ascertain the truth.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Oheneba Amoako-Boateng, told the court that a patrol team of the Ghana Private Road and Transport Union on patrol arrested Botwe for stopping at un authorized place to pick passengers.

He said during police investigations it was detected that the accused was also driving without valid documents. 09 May 05
