On Tuesday, April 25, 2017, the 31-year-old suspect who is also a farmer was arrested by the Asankragwa police for purportedly killing his son for alleged ritual purposes.

The incident reportedly occurred at Adidaase, near Manso Amenfi in the Wassa Amenfi District of the Western Region.

When the father, Abdul Salam, was confronted, he allegedly admitted killing the boy and removing some parts of his body for rituals.

The suspect later took the police to the location he allegedly buried the boy’s body and it was exhumed and subsequently deposited at the morgue.

The people in community indicated that the suspect’s father has a very large cocoa farm and he (suspect) has also cultivated another cocoa farm.
