Some angry supporters of the NPP vandalized the party's billboards and structures in some districts in the region over the nomination of MMDCEs, especially in Tolon, Savelugu.

They set fire to lorry tyres, billboards, party paraphernalia and other materials in the middle of the streets.

Angry supporters of the NPP vandalized the party's billboards and structures in the Savelugu Municipality over the nomination Hajia Ayishetu.

Party supporters, numbering over 200, took to the streets of Savelugu to express their displeasure about the president's nomination on Wednesday.

The aggrieved supporters claimed some of the nominees never took part in any campaign of the party and that people who fought so hard to ensure victory for the party had been sidelined.

The Minister indicated that the nominees would go through various processes before they are confirmed to represent their various districts and so members should remain calm.

He appealed to the youth not to take the law into their own hands, adding that the president was unhappy about the chaos in the region.

Mr Saeed disclosed that the government would implement good policies and programmes to effectively develop the region.

He assured persons, who were not nominated by the President to remain calm and support the nominees since they would get other opportunities.
