MCE Appointment: NPP Members in Asunafo North Demonstrate Against Prez Nominee Osei Boahen

Concerned members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asunafo North of the Brong Ahafo region has held a demonstration at Goaso to kick against the President Nana Addo nominee Mr. Osei Boahen as Municipal Chief executive (MCE) for Asunafo North.

According to the members they will not accept and work with Mr. Osei Boahen as their MCE because he is not the right man for the job (MCE).

“Mr. Osei Boahen doesn't know the toils of us the members and the genesis of the resounding victory we chalked in the 2016.

According to the members, “Mr. Osei resigned three months after voting for him as the chairman and contested for the parliamentary primaries in 2011 and left the party with his supporters there after he lost the primaries”.

The members said Mr Farouk Nkrumah is the best person to occupy the seat (MCE), and has the capacity to ensure that Nana Addo’s government’s plans to come into reality.

“Mr. Farouk Nkrumah is ‘true’ New Patriotic Party (NPP) activists who has supported and finance the party in the constituency for years”

They added that, Chiefs, religious leaders, pooling station executives and amongst all assembly members who will be working with the MCE are in support of Mr Farouk Nkrumah.

“MCE's are supposed to be implementing the President's policies so anybody who does not share in his(President) vision like Mr Boahen who had always opined that Nana Addo can't be president shouldn't be implementing his policies. We are aware of the role of Mr Farouk

Nkrumah in the 2016 campaign both financially and physically, even to the extent of buying a pick up for the constituency, so it is only fair that he is given the MCE position”, a statement by the groups said.

“We are appealing to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo to select Mr. farouk Nkrumah competent person to lead our assemblies as we know him" they stated.
