AUCC To Impeach SRC Prez For Ineptitude??

The Students Representative Council (SRC) President of the African University College of Communications (AUCC), Mr Abdallah Iddi Saani is likely to be impeached in the coming days as sections of the student body mount pressure for his impeachment, citing gross ineptitude and failure to fulfil campaign promises as their reasons.

It is expected that Journalists for Human Rights (JHR), AUCC Chapter, which happens to be the biggest and most active club on campus would lead the charge for the impeachment process against the SRC President, Mr Saani.

However, President of JHR AUCC Chapter, Niibi Nii Martey Botchway Benjamin Jnr. is tight lipped as to whether or not he'll lead the charge for impeachment proceedings against the former.

According to him, there have been numerous petitions that have been brought before him to call for the impeachment of the SRC President and that he will have to consult the Patron and executive board of JHR on what steps to take.

"JHR is guided by rules and regulations, and as such decisions taken have been and must be done with consent of the executive board. I'll meet the Patron and executive board to discuss this issue and upon their advice, I'll act accordingly", he said.

Meanwhile, it is unclear if Congress, which is the legislative arm of AUCC would vote to impeach its president should the motion be brought before it, as it is speculated that majority of these Congress men and women are sympathizers of Mr Saani.
