At the 60th anniversary celebration of the Okuapeman Senior High School on Saturday the 11th day of February 2017,H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo made significant policy statements including plans to ensure mining of the Sheini iron deposits and fields in the Zabzugu and Tatale Districts respectively.This move as part of the larger plans by H. E administration to fulfil the popular campaign promise of one District one factory through public/private sector collaboration is welcome by me and the entire people of Yelzoli. It must be eemphasizedthat since the first Republic there have been attempts by governments to effectively explore the Sheini iron fields but due to inadequate political will and direction all came to naught. Our people who are predominantly agrarian have been waiting patiently for years for the day to rejoice the commencement of the mining of iron in their backyard. We have no reasonable cause to doubt H. E competence in getting this done. It would create employment for the unemployed youth in the area and also open the area up for accelerated development. The bad road network of the area would see a massive rehabilitation.
May I take this opportunity to congratulate H.E. the President of the Republic of Ghana on his ascension to the highest office in the country and to further assure him of the continued support of the chiefs and people of Zabzugu, Kworli and Tatale in his avowed drive to actualise the potential of Sheini iron ore deposits.
