H.E Jesus Mba Bela Abaha indicated that these students sometimes face challenges that include accommodation, a situation which led to the sudden and irreparable death of a very intelligent Equatorial Guinean student in Ghana.

“My President, anxious to promote the wellbeing of the Equatorial Guinean citizens, dreamt of, not only carrying out infrastructure projects in Equatorial Guinea but also outside the country in favour of the Equatorial Guineans in order to solve some of the problems that confront them,” he stated.

He mentioned that the facility is a learning centre which has 126 elegant rooms but with the capacity to accommodate 168 people, a modern gym, an auditorium that doubles as a cinema, conference rooms, a salon, an infirmary, a laundry, a world class restaurant support with a modern kitchen, basket ball court, a tennis court, industrial cafeteria, a modern swimming pool, an outdoor event area with solar energy as an alternative source of energy.

Mr.Adomako-Gyimah emphasized that about 40 percent of their current staff are locals from Abokobi and its catchment area.

Rev. Jonathan Bettey, the Director of Public Relations, Ministry of Education, who acted on behalf of the Minister, said, my presence here demonstrates the inclination of the Government of Ghana to strengthen its bilateral relations with sister nations, including Equatorial Guinea, as we work to put our nation back onto a solid path of progress and prosperity.

He added that my visit also comes at a time the Government of President Akufo-Addo has taken over the reins of power through the ballot and working hard to have the full government machinery in place as we make our nation greater and stronger.

According to him, their plans to have the Ghanaian economy expanded through quality access to education and intensive industrialization programmes, as contained in policies, such as ‘One District, One Factory’, ‘One Village, One Dam’ and ‘Free Senior High School Education’ cannot be realized without the cooperation and support of other countries and donor agencies, including the Equatorial Guinea.

Rev. Jonathan noted that as Minister responsible for Education, he urge them to deepen their confidence and trust in the education system and in the national economy as they think of putting up more of this facility in other parts of the country.

“We welcome anybody from any part of the globe who wants to come and live here in Ghana to study or to work to feel free to do so for enhanced life,” he stated.

He added that they assure everybody of their continued resolve to have all systems and structures strengthened to protect the rights of all citizens and people living in Ghana as government also preserve the nation’s sovereign interest and security.
