Patients at the National Cardiothoracic Centre (NCC) are benefitting from the partnership between Kasapreko's Awake Purified Drinking Water and the institution.

According to the Director of the NCC, Dr Lawrence Sereboe, six heart patients have so far benefitted from the Awake Water initiative, adding that their surgeries cost thousands of Ghana cedis.

Dr Sereboe made this known when some key distributors of Awake Water made a donation of GH¢70,000 on behalf of the company to the National Cardio Centre.

The company has this year made a total cash donation of GH¢120, 000 to the Cardio Centre to support economically disadvantaged patients who cannot afford medical care for heart transplants, heart surgeries, and any other forms of heart disease.

Presenting the cheque to officials of the Cardio Centre at a short ceremony in Accra, Benjamin Owusu, a lead distributor of Awake Water, said, “We are making a cash donation of GH¢70,000, the biggest so far of our donations. This amount coupled with our previous cash donations will amount to GH¢120,000 for only this year, fulfilling our promise of making GH¢100,000 donation to the Cardio Centre annually.”

According to Mr Owusu, Awake Water empathises with “these patients, especially the children that is why we introduced the ONE4LIFE charity initiative, where profits from selling Awake Water will be donated to the National Cardio Centre. This will go a long way in helping the centre increase their assistant to patients who cannot afford to pay their medical bills.”

Receiving the donation, Dr Sereboe thanked the management of Kasapreko for the donation and assured that “every donation received is accounted for.”

Founder of Kasapreko Company, DrKwabena Adjei also gave the centre a cheque of GH¢10,000 which was the last tranche of the GH¢60,000 pledge for the centre within a period of six months.
