Education Mando Senior High wins Mathematics and Science Contest

Accra, Mar. 25, GNA - The Mando Senior High School (SHS) has emerged winner in the 2017 edition of the Mathematics and Science Contest, an initiative organised by Bensyl Hiring Services to educate second cycle schools within the Ajumako Enyan Esiam District.

They were awarded a trophy, an undisclosed amount of cash, science and mathematics text books as well as certificates.

Other participating schools of the contest were Enyan Denkyira SHS and Ajumako SHS, who placed second and third, respectively. They also received cash prizes, science and mathematics text books and certificates.

The annual educational exercise organised in collaboration with the Ajumako Enyan Esiam District of the Ghana Education Service, and the vision attributed to Bensyl Hiring Services (BHS), formed part of the district's desire to make education the first priority of life.

Mr Bernard-Badu Acquah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BHS in a statement highlighted his commitment to education.

The CEO stressed on the need for science and mathematics education for students as the best way to develop Ghana in the near future.

Mr Badu-Acquah, who noted that his outfit would continue to support educational activities with the District added that this year's event was the second edition of the programme which had been scheduled to take place annually under the auspices and sponsorship of BHS and GES.

Madam Macaiver Ivy Quay, the District Education Director, lauded BHS for the initiative, saying the directorate was blessed to have a benevolent act like this towards education.

The District Education Director told the teaming students representing the three schools to take advantage of the gesture to aid their learning.

Mr Kofi Abotsie Mawuena, the Science and Technology Mathematics Education (STME) coordinator and quiz master also commended the CEO of BHS for the laudable initiative, and efforts to improve the educational standards within Ajumako in the Central Region.
