Actress Omotala calls on First Lady

Accra, March 24, GNA - A leading Nigerian Actress, Omotala Jalade Ekeinde has paid a courtesy call on the First Lady, Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo as part of a brand talk programme, organised by Unilever Ghana and the University of Ghana.

Omotala, is a Unilever brand Ambassador for Knorr cube, under the 'Omotola in Ghana brand building for global relevance' programme.

The actress, who doubles as a singer and a philanthropist became the Knorr Social Mission ambassador in 2015 right from the launch of the programme in Nigeria.

The Knorr social mission called Knorr Force for Good is a behavioural change programme aimed at educating women of child bearing age and teenagers on the importance of nutrition and simple ways to make meals nutritious.

Briefing the media, Omotala said she decided to call on Mrs Akufo-Addo because she could well relate with her in the promotion of general well-being of women.

'I congratulated her and the President for their victory and for what she stands for in promoting the health of people, which I also do as a brand ambassador of Unilever.'

She described the First Lady as a very strong African woman who was very welcoming, saying, 'I hope she will follow that beautiful reception with actions and continue to help society'.

On her brand programme, Omotola explained that she was in the country to speak at the Business School as a brand ambassador to educate stakeholders and students on the importance of branding and on what they could do to keep their branding status intact.

'People should be concern with their images and be consistent with what they do' the Nollywood Actress said.

She used the occasion to encourage women to know that there were lots of possibilities that existed for them and so they should take advantage to explore and fulfill their potentials.

Ms Nsima Ogedi-Alakwe, Marketing Director of Foods, Unilever Ghana-Nigeria, said 'Omotola is here as a role model for young students. As they prepare to come out to the working world, they need to know all these'.

'She is constant, successful and a role model who has a lot to offer to other young people,' Ms Ogedi-Alakwe said.
