Accra, March 24, GNA - RwandAir, the national carrier of the Republic of Rwanda, has commenced direct flights from Accra to Lagos as part of the Airline's route expansion project in 2017.

Lagos, Nigeria, being the first phase of the project, will be followed by new routes such as Harare, Zimbabwe from April 1 and Mumbai, India from April 3.

The flights to Lagos will be tagged to the existing Accra- Kigali route and operated daily with the new fleet including the newly acquired Airbus 330-200 -triple class configuration with on board wifi and mobile access.

Mr Shukrani Hemedi, the Country Manager of RwandAir Ghana, said this project was one of many initiated by the airline to add more value and meet customers demand.

''We are happy about this development and the opportunity to pick passengers from Accra to Lagos which meets expectation from our cherished clients,'' he said.

Mr Hemedi said as a growing brand with quality and complete services at the core of their endeavours, the airline would continue to work hard and expand its services to delight their customers whom the company owe their business existence to.

Dubbed: 'Spreading its Wings,' the project will see the launch of many more destinations including its first long haul flights to London Gatwick and New York in May, this year.

RwandAir is one of the fastest growing airlines on the African Continent operating a growing fleet of 11 aircrafts while still covering 19 destinations including Kigali, Johannesburg, Dubai, Nairobi and Dar-Es-Salaam.

RwandAir is a certified airline having International Air Transport Association (IATA) Operational Safety Audit, IATA's Safety Audit for Ground Operations and numerous awards in customer service, route development, equipment and safety.

Mr Hemedi said the airline had also attractive baggage allowance for all destinations, loyalty programme (Dream Miles) and great on board cuisines.

RwandAir, which started operating in Ghana in 2013, is well known for its affordability, reliability and provision of total convenience to its cherished passengers.
