Men go gaga over coconut … Consumers confirm Chronicle’s research report

Some coconut lovers in Kumasi have hailed The Chronicle’s coconut story as being true and impeccable, and that they have tasted it and can testify to it.

Yesterday, this paper published a frontpage story captioned: “COCONUT IMPROVES SEX LIFE…research findings say its juice can help treat erectile dysfunction due to the rich electrolytes content.”

The story elaborated the super demand for coconut juice in Kumasi, which health findings have been penciled as good for sex life.

In a follow-up interview about the said story, coconut lovers, who are mostly male, expressed their admiration for coconut.

In an interview with one man who identified himself as 'Red', he confirmed that, indeed, coconut is good for sex life.

According to him, he likes coconut so much, because it aids his erection, and that any time he travels to the coastal part of the country, where they are cheap, he consumes a lot because of the numerous benefits he derives from the juice.

According to another consumer, Akwasi, coconut is good for the human body, especially for men.

“Every two days I enjoy coconut, and apart from its sexual benefits, it also cures fever.”

Mr. Hammah, who runs a boutique at Asafo, a suburb of Kumasi, was of the view that coconut replenishes lost fluid in the body, especially after sexual intercourse. He urged Ghanaians to drink coconut juice if they want energy, adding that it is good and natural.

Asked about how he came across the sexual benefits, the coconut admirer stated that he read about it in a book.

Another man, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told this reporter that coconut juice is good and cleanses the heart.  According to him, “you benefit immensely if the juice synchronises with [your] blood group.”

In a voice pop interview, Madam Grace Oppong, a coconut admirer, indicated that she loves coconut because it contains a lot of nutrients.

According to her, she got to know about coconuts from her infancy, and that she sometimes uses coconut oil to cook, and it is palatable.

On his part, Mr. Opoku-Adusei testified that coconut boosts production of semen in men, which is good for sex. The computer dealer added that the whitish food in coconut is equally nutritious.
