Cape Coast April 20, GNA - Two pregnant girls are among a total 3,148 candidates writing the BECE in the Cape Coast municipality. The GNA saw the two would-be mothers writing their papers when it visited the seven examination centres.

Fifteen candidates also failed to turn up, five at the Holy Child School centre, four each at Adisadel and St Augustine colleges, and one each, at the Wesley Girls, Mfantsipim and University Practice Secondary schools.

Many of the supervisors the GNA spoke to said there were enough materials to cover the five-day examination and that there was no problem from the candidates or the invigilators. Ms Veronica Fry-Annan, the Municipal Director of Education, said ''examination malpractices are not normally associated with students in the municipality.''
