The Ministry of Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs acting upon the request or instructions of Oblempong Nii Kojo Ababio V, Paramount Chief and President of Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council has set aside the status or capacity of Nii Ofei III as Ngleshie Kokrobite Mantse.

The Paramount Chief have had cause to complain about the conduct of Nii Ofei III on several occasions and the latter according to Nii Ababio III has refused advise and directions from the council and hence the request for his withdrawal as chief of Kokrobite.

At one point, the Nii Arde Nkpa Family Council in a letter dated 14th February 2017 signed by Nii Tackie, Head of Family, petitioned the Director General/CID that as a matter of urgency his police outfit should move in to stop the land-guard activities suspected to be headed by Nii Ofei III.

He also cited some of the land guards as Daniel Nii Arde Tagoe, Augustine Neequaye alias Dada Joe Kofe Asafoatse Clottey and Otinor. These land guards he said are selling these lands that have been earmarked for developmental projects to estate developers.

Nii Tackie stated that “the paramount chief of James Town, Oblempong Kojo Ababio V has had cause to summon Nii Ofei III to his palace but he did not honor the invitation and has gotten to a point where the youth on our lands want to confront these land-guards but we think the best way to deal with this problem is to report to the police to take the necessary action.”
