“Am sorry to disappoint you mummy and daddy …”

An 18-YEAR-OLD daughter of the Asante Akim Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, reportedly authored the above words in a suicide note she was said to have left behind before allegedly taking her own life in her hostel room at dawn on Friday.

The tragic death of Adwoa Agyarkwa Anyimadu-Antwi, a petrochemical engineering student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has left her family and school mates dumfounded as they continuously scratch their heads for answers.

The university was thrown into a state of shock and mourning after the first-year student was allegedly found hanging on a rope in her room on Friday, around 3pm.

The body was reportedly found hanging on an ash coloured nylon rope which was fastened to the base of a ceiling fan right in the middle of the room by her colleagues who then blew the alarm.

The chemical engineering student was quickly rushed to the KNUST Hospital for immediate treatment to save her life but she was pronounced dead on arrival, the police informed DAILY GUIDE.

Some students who confirmed the tragic incident, said the deceased left behind a suicide note which apologized to her parents for her action.

This paper gathered from some students of the university that Adwoa Agyarkwa Anyimadu-Antwi, who was considered to be a brilliant student, took the extreme step because she could not bear the shame accompanying her failed papers.

Other unconfirmed reports indicated that Adwoa Anyimadu-Antwi might have ended her life because of a different private matter which had nothing to do with academic performance. According to sources, it might be the cause of broken heart as her boyfriend was said to have jilted her in a painful manner.

Police Grills KNUST Students
Meanwhile, the Tech District Police had invited and interrogated three female students, who were said to be roommates of the late student.

DSP Boakye Ansah told DAILY GUIDE that the police were still investigating the case, adding that no conclusion had been reached so far.

He said the police were comparing the hand writing on the suicide note Adwoa Anyimadu-Antwi reportedly left behind with her previous writings to see if they matched.
