Ghana most leading telecommunication network MTN has launched a yellow care service to boost its mobile money services to integrate banking and telecommunications network.

The product will be consistent with the company’s quest to deepen financial inclusion in the country.

The service, in collaboration with fidelity bank aims at enabling people to open an account on their mobile phones with as low as Ghc 5 to enable subscribers earn attractive interest yearly.s

Speaking on behalf of the general manager northern Ghana of MTN at the launching at Dr. Mensah lorry station in Kumasi Wednesday, Mrs. Adwoa Baah indicated the significant contribution savings play in developing the wellbeing of the individuals.

The ability to achieve goals or capitalize on opportunities according to Mrs. Baah is many times made possible by access to savings.

The innovated product was launched in partnership with Fidelity bank limited.

According to her, the yellow save account product is designed to give subscribers a convenient way to save and earn attractive interest, as means of mobilizing funds and help people acquire the habit of saving.

“Mobile money is now playing a crucial role in making banking services accessible to previously unbanked population in the developing countries”. She noted.

She hinted that, MTN paid total of Ghc 34,343,000 as quarterly interest to mobile money customers in 2016, which confirms MTN commitment in ensuring that its customers reap the benefits of using the Mobile Money service.

She said, the MTN leading position in Ghana means that, “it has a big responsibility in national development.

She expressed appreciation to it partner bank fidelity, and urged all Ghanaians to be part of this wonderful yellow care service.
