Civil Servants Charged To Avoid Partisan Politics

The Eastern Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour has reitreated his optimism to ensure that the establishment of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development at Somanya in the Eastern Region comes to fruition.

He said the university is a good initiative that would benefit the people of the region and beyond and therefore pledged to ensure its speedy completion.

The minister gave assurance at a meeting with the staff of the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council in Koforidua. Mr. Darfour noted that the region is a cosmopolitan one stressing the need to galvanise everybody on board for its success.

He called for unflinching support from the staff to make sure that programs and policies of the central government are implemented and realised. He entreated the staff to put politics aside and be guided by the core values of their work.

The Eastern Regional minister admitted that all cannot be sympathisers to one political party but should make sure that their affiliations do not affect their work. For his part, the Chief Director of the RCC, Randolph Korzie Sambo assured the minister of the staff's support to deliver on his mandate and to realise his vision for the region.
