On Friday, February 17,2017, a gory accident occurred at Okponglo-Legon enclave involving seven cars.According to preliminary investigation gathered from onlookers, the articulator, one of the cars involved in the accident, had failed on the break which caused that multiplicity of accident.

The accident had occurred about 20mins before I got to the scene. Earlier, before I got to the scene, I was in this Trotro. An ambulance which wanted passage had a tough time in getting that. Most of the vehicles were reluctant. Our driver, with support from some passengers were making the case that these ambulances on our road often ask for passage when there is nobody in them.

I had to join the many people who couldn't stand the heat and the thick vehicular traffic the accident had caused[which some of us would come to know later] to walk.

When we got to the accident scene, on the grounds were these helpless and blood soaked persons who were being carried into the ambulance and some other cars to the hospital.

I didn't see any of the passengers who were supporting our driver not to give the ambulance easy access, but I am sure they would feel bad after seeing these people.

We must understand as a people that the operation of the ambulance is not to remain on the road or be treated like any other cars.Whether we feel somebody is in there or not, it doesn't or shouldn't change our attitude towards the emergency of the ambulance.Give it way!

Remember, when we do this, we could be saving a life.It could be you; it could be me; it could be that person you love dearly.
