The minority National Democratic Congress (NDC) continues to describe the maiden State of the Nation address as delivered by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to Parliament on Tuesday in different words. The latest to join is the Greater Accra Regional Organizer of the NDC Anthony Nukpenu who captioned yesterday’s State of the Nation address as “Lamentations”

“Asempa, I was hoping President Nana Addo, not campaigning Nana Addo but President Nana Addo will outline some key policy guidelines yesterday, as to how he will fulfill his huge and laborious promises, but I was disappointed when the President was sounding exactly the same way he sounded on the campaign platform. What did he say, he was just complaining and lamenting. It was all lamentations, less policy” disappointed regional organizer asserted.

Anthony Nukpenu who was contributing to the debate on President’s first State of the Nation Address on Onua Fm morning show ‘Yen Nsem Pa’ with Bright Kwesi Asempa, noted that Ghanaians hopes were dashed yesterday following the President’s inability to meet their expectations. He said many were rather looking forward to hearing the President tell them the real and true state of the country but there was nothing like that as the President “was only complaining the same way they did prior to the elections”

“They told us we the NDC were not managing the affairs well and they called on Ghanaians to vote us out which they did, so one would have thought that the President and his government will stop complaining. Don’t they know that they are now in charge of affairs, Ghanaians are highly expectant, Please Mr. President tell us ‘how’ and ‘when’ not ‘what’ and ‘which’, the complain is becoming too much, we have heard enough of the complains” Anthony bemoaned.

Anthony Nukpenu maintained that the President has promised to govern differently and it is important the President pay heed to his ‘lofty’ promises and fulfill them or tell Ghanaians they cannot do it.

“The level of disappointment was just high, the President must deliver and he must fix it if they believe it is broken”
