Accra, April 12, GNA - Fire swept through the Azar Chemical Paint Factory at South Industrial Area in Accra on Monday night causing extensive damage to equipment, building structure and chemicals. The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) team led by Station Officer Jones Okine spent about two hours to bring the fire under control. Eyewitnesses said but for the timely intervention of the GNFS, the entire factory would have been razed.
There were, however, no casualties.
Officials of the Company and Fire Service Personnel at the scene told the GNA on Tuesday that they would institute immediate investigations into the cause of fire.
