"Now Rebekah was listening as Isaac spoke to his son Esau. When Esau left for the open country to hunt game and bring it back, [Genesis 27:5] NIV

Now Isaac was old and weak to see. So he called his oldest son, Esau and said: " Go out to the field and hunt some wild game for me".

Isaac further told Esau to prepare some tasty delicacy from the hunted game so he may eat and bless Esau before he (Isaac) dies.

Unknowingly, Isaac's wife Rebekah was eavesdropping. Why would Rebekah eavesdropped on Isaac?

Did Rebekah had an exterior motive or could not trust his husband, Isaac anymore?

To eavesdrop is to listen to peoples conversation without them knowing that you are listening.

You will agree that eavesdropping to some extent is an unacceptable habit. And come to think of it when you eavesdrop on someone, you either work against the person or fight for your interest.

However eavesdropping can make one change his or her perception, love and relationship towards someone.

It might be true, that Rebekah had an exterior motive. Is it right to eavesdrop?

We will know why Rebekah eavesdrop on Isaac in the next publication. Would you be like Rebekah?
