Crusading Guide Journalists nominated for Business Journalism Awards

A Journalist working with the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Mr Kwabena Adu Koranteng has been shortlisted for the Institute of Financial and Economic Journalists (IFEJ) –Flamingo 2016 Awards

Mr Adu Koranteng joins six other financial journalists who will compete for the various awards.

The chair for the five-member jury Mr Daniel Otabil Koomson said in all 35 entries were received from 14 financial journalists out of which 25 of the entries were from the print media and ten were from the electronic media.

“ The short listed journalists are Adu Koranteng of New Crusading Guide, Maxwell Adombila and Jessica Acheampong from Graphic Business, Famous Atsitsogbe formerly of Multi Media now a freelancer, Rebeka Awuah of GBC 24, Kofi Adu Dumfeh of TV3 Network, Adnan Adams Mohammed of Economic Times and Theophilus Kwasi Agyei Anim of KFS TV formerly Viasat Viasat One.

This year’s award is on the theme: “ Strengthening micro finance institutions to enhance the growth of rural and micro enterprises” The Guest Speaker is Professor Ernest Aryeetey, former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Legon with Mr Alhassan Andani, Managing Director of Stanbic Bank

The event will take place on Friday January 27 at 6.00pm at the Dubois Memorial Centre at Cantonments.

All the seven short listed journalists will be vying for the ultimate prize which is sponsored by the World Bank

In July last year, IFEJ launched the third edition of the IFEJ-Flamingo Award for Business and Financial Journalism.

The essence of the annual awards is to recognise business and financial journalists and editors who have provided high quality coverage of the business and financial environment in the country
