Of Zoomlion, Nation Wreckers, And The Hajj Board
03.01.2017 LISTEN

The word “Bamboozle” is too mild to describe the deceit that Ghanaians have suffered at the hands of leeching companies, camouflaged crooks, and fleecing institutions that are meant to alleviate the suffering of the people, but are rather bringing more poverty to the larger society. There is so much pain in me that I am sifting through my vocabulary to find a more appropriate definition to best describe this misfeasance cum malfeasance cum nonfeasance. Or maybe it would be prudent to apply to the Brits to customise one for our (mis)leaders.

Zoomlion, was originally supposed to be in the bola (refuse) collection business, but has expanded into more areas of endeavor. That is not where the problem is, though. It would seem as if the NDC kingpins have a vested interested in awarding the company last minute contracts. But since when did Zoomlion become passport and National Identification contractors?

Why would zoomlion be handpicked for these jobs when we have government institutions like the NIA and passport office that are charged with the responsibility of issuing IDs and passports, respectively, to Ghanaians? By the way, the identification project was stalled since the 2009 by the NDC government, apparently, in an effort to continually cheat their way through elections! All of a sudden, the dead conscience of the NDC seems to have sprung back to life, but would it not be an act of shenanigans to court Zoomlion with hundreds of millions of dollars in various deals as John Dramani Mahama and his government exit the scene, albeit disgracefully?

We continue to ask the same questions we have asked before, and to which we are yet to receive answers:

  1. Why was Zoomlion paid for spraying works that were done only in selected areas?
  2. Why is it that government compensates Zoomlion with hundreds of Ghana Cedis per head counted under its canopy per month, but pays its workers miserable remunerations of 80 and 100 Ghana cedis?
  3. Is it not a company that makes profits and has to pay for it employees?
  4. Since when did it become the responsibility of the government to compensate a company as Zoomlion for employing people?
  5. Why did the NDC government turn such a blind eye to this crime against humanity? Or is it because they wanted to maintain the wrongful notion that they had created jobs? What jobs? This is slavery! This is mockery! This is abuse! This is occultism; otherwise how would a person accept to take such a meager amount if they weren’t under the spell of some occultic tradition?
  6. What are the details of the National Identification contract given this company?
  7. What are the details of the passport contract? How many copies was Joseph Agyapong contracted to print for the government?
  8. These fresh contracts with Zoomlion are in the hundreds of millions of dollars. What justifies such profuse bleeding of the national purse?

There are more instances of similar reckless nation-wrecking conspiracies that entrenched Ghana in the abyss that she is in now. The startling revelations sometimes seem unbelievable, but some of the documents in the possession of aggrieved persons that we were fortunate to peruse tell a tale of government officials who have lost their sense of nationalism and can be aptly tried for treason. I say it once again, the actions of some government officials in pillaging the nation are downright treasonable.

On the issue of the Haj Board, how come is it indebted to the tune of 23 million Ghana Cedis? Where did the money go to? Why is it that the NDC government and John Dramani Mahama are hell bent on drowning the nation with debt to saddle the incoming administration of Nana Akufo-Addo with more fiscal challenges than any government ever inherited?

The Haj Board was set up with the sole objective of streamlining the activities of Haj seasons and the pilgrims for that matter. Charging over three thousand US Dollars per head for the most recent season was more than enough to pay for the whole exercise. What sort of insensitivity is this at all? Members of the Haj Board must be invited by EOCO and BNI for investigations of fiscal impropriety.

This 419 Board must be made to answer some questions:

  1. Why have pilgrims, denied last year’s Haj, not been reimbursed till today even though their hard earned moneys were paid upfront?
  2. Why is corruption rife in the Board, taking money from Pilgrims to expedite their processes? Is it a “who-bribes-more-gets-to-go” concept of operation?
  3. Why is it that not a single report has been submitted to the authorities by the Hajj Board since 2009 till date?
  4. Where did the 23 million Ghana Cedis vanish to?

I shudder at the thought that the devil has ubiquitously made itself manifest in people’s hearts and minds that they see wrong as right and vice versa. And the situation of Ghanaians continues to exacerbate.

GOD bless Ghana and make our nation great and strong!
