Bolgatanga, Jan. 1, GNA - Shalom Family Foundation, an association of couples in the Catholic Church, has presented gifts to the Paediatric Unit of the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital as a demonstration of love to the children on admission.

The items included quantities of diapers, detergents, biscuits and fruit drinks.

Mr Fred Aminga-Etego, who presented the items on behalf of the Foundation, said the organisation was made up of couples in the Catholic Church, and as part of activities to mark the festive season, decided to donate the items to put smiles on the faces of the children.

He said it was unfortunate that the mothers and their children found themselves in the hospital at a time when they should have been at home celebrating the yuletide.

'We will continue to remember you in prayers, it is our hope that God would heal you,' he added.

Mr Innocent Braimah, Nutritionist at the Hospital who received the gifts on behalf of the Unit, expressed gratitude for the gesture and love shown to the children.

He called for more donations to the Unit.
Madam Rebecca Awinmaliya a mother of twins on admission, who received some of the items, told the Ghana News Agency that she was grateful for the love shown.
