2005 CEANA Convention

The Volta Club, Inc., and the Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA), a powerhouse organization of Ewes in Canada and USA cordially invites Ghanaians around the world to join the 2005 Annual CEANA Convention activities in the Washington Metro Area during the Labor Day weekend.

CONVENTION THEME:

The theme for the convention is INVESTMENT AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC

DEVELOPMENT: CRITICAL ISSUES ACROSS EWELAND

HOTEL INFORMATION:

The Convention activities and lodging will be at the following hotel.

Hotel Room Rates:

$59.00 per night-Single or Double occupancy without breakfast (code-

CEA)or $69.00 per night-Single or Double occupancy with breakfast(code-CNW)

For Reservations:

Please call: 1-800-Hiltons (1-800-445-8667) and mention that you are booking room

under the Council of Ewe Associations of North America (CEANA).

Reservation Deadline:

Reservations must be made by August 8, 2005 and must be confirmed

with a major Credit Card to guarantee the above rates.

Important Note:

There are two (2) different codes available for your reservation.

Select your preferred code from below and mention this when making

your reservations.

1)CEA is the code for rate without breakfast

2)CNW is the code for rate with breakfast

Please avoid booking more sleeping rooms than you will need as the

hotel will charge you for at least one night rate for rooms reserved

and not used and not canceled by the August 8, 2005 reservation

deadline date.

AIRPORTS:

There are two airports which are conveniently located about 14 miles

away from the Convention Hotel. The airports are the Washington

Dulles International Airport (IAD) and the Reagan National (DCA)

Airport. Groups and individuals who are planning to attend the 2005

CEANA Convention are advised to use the Washington Dulles

International Airport (IAD).

The Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI) is about sixty

(60)miles away from the Convention Hotel site.

CONVENTION PROGRAMS:

The Convention activities will begin on Friday, September 2, 2005

and end on Sunday, September 4, 2005.

1) Friday - Meeting of the Executive Council (Secretariat) and

Delegates from member organizations known as the Council of

Representatives(COR).

2) Saturday (Daytime) - The General Membership meeting is open to

All Convention attendees, individuals from member organizations,

delegates and the CEANA Secretariat. There will be an afternoon

Luncheon, featuring the special guest speakers.

3) Saturday (Evening) - An evening of Dinner Dance/Banquet in an

atmosphere of pomp, and cultural performances. There will be special

prizes presented during the banquet event!

4) Sunday - An all-day picnic with durbar, featuring cultural

dances, variety of delicious ethnic cuisines, various games and lots

of other forms of entertainment.

This year's Convention will be a blast! There will be luxury

accommodation and feeding for all. You must call early to reserve
