Kumasi, March 20, GNA - Over 100 exhibitors are participating on Ghana Trade Company 2005 Easter Grand Sales from March 18 to 31 at the Prempeh Assembly Hall in Kumasi.
Mrs Esther Ofori, Chief Executive of the company, made the announcement in an address read on her behalf at a news briefing in Kumasi on Friday.
She said targeted exhibitors included companies from Egypt, Pakistan, Benin, Togo, Mali, Guinea, Ghana and other parts of the world. Mrs Ofori said the company introduced the grand sales into its calendar in 1991 to help boost internal trade and expose exportable products.
She indicated that exhibitors were allowed to display any type of products except arms and ammunitions, pornographic and radioactive materials.
She said apart from pornographic and radioactive materials, which were completely prohibitive, exhibitors, could apply through the company to the military for approval to display arms and ammunitions.
"When approval is given, the military will then supervise the display of the arms throughout the fair", she added.
She said the fair had assisted many commercial operators in the Ashanti Region to off-load most of their piled up stocks and had also helped to create awareness for the lesser-known products from the Region.
