Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hanna Tetteh has lost her bid to retain the Ewutu-Senya West parliamentary seat for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Ms Tetteh who is the incumbent Member of Parliament for the constituency was humbled by the New Patriotic Party’s George Andah.

She polled 25,664 of the eligible votes cast against Mr. Andah’s 28867.

Meanwhile, Victor Smith, Ghana’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, also lost his bid to capture the Abuakwa North seat for the second time, according to provisional results from the collation centre.

Contesting on the ticket of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) Mr. Smith got 11,740 votes.

The incumbent MP, Gifty Twum-Ampofo of the New Patriotic Party, who recently won the seat through a by-election following the murder of JB Danquah-Adu got 18,098.

In the Weija-Gbawe constituency, the NPP’s Tina Mensah has defeated the NDC’s Obuobia Darko-Opoku.

According to certified results, the former had 34216 whilst the latter had 25087.
