“I am very confident, I don't talk 100 percent but I expect Ghana will give it to NPP this time,” was former President John Agyekum Kufuor's words after he cast his ballot at Dzorwulu Wednesday.

The two-time president says he is confident the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who is up against incumbent president John Dramani Mahama, will win the elections.

On Sunday at the last rally of the party, Mr Kufuor said he was convinced of a resounding victory predicting a win in five out of the 10 Regions in the country.

He said the NPP will win more votes in the Greater Accra, Central, Eastern, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti Regions as well as share the other five regions with the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Affectionately called the ‘gentle giant’ because of his gentlemanly demeanor, he said Ghanaians must avoid all forms of violence and remain calm after they have cast their ballot.

The two-term President from 2001 to 2009 said, “we should all go about in an orderly and peaceful way. We are showing our thoughts and expectations it's not going to war.”

He said Ghanaians do not need to be violent and eager to fight.
