The Taste Of A Woman

24.11.2016 LISTEN
By Nana Ama Asantewaa Kwarkoh

She has the mystical power to attract at age 20
Her hair is as shiny as silicon
She makes the most stunning evening dresses
Her sparkling eyes reveals her thoughts and emotions
She wants a man with a wonderful source of joy
A champion who would jump in with his head first during high hurdles
A hairy young man with an outstanding financial status

She is gorgeous as the moonlight at age 30
Her smiles are uplifting yet sobering
Although she has a sumptuous appearance
Her short hair reveals her desperation
Half of her mates are married and that gives her sleepless nights
She wants a man with at least some hair on his head
A real man who appreciates a good home-cooked meal and can open car doors
Her heart yearns for a man who remembers birthdays and have enough money for a romantic dinner

She looks pretty with an engaging grin at age 40
She chooses clothes that makes her appear thinner
Her poorly-applied makeup depicts her worry
She wants a man who wears a T-shirt that covers his protruding stomach
A man with bald head is acceptable
She wants a man who shaves most weekends and nods when she is talking to him

At age 50, she tries too hard to look good in her prom dress
She forgets about her genes and concentrates on her jeans
Her converse flatters her feet
She now wants a man who doesnt belch or scratch in public
A man who doesn't borrow money too often and doesn't retell the same jokes all the time
Oh yes! A man who keeps the hair in his nose and ears trimmed on weekends

She tries to stay away from coffee and soda age 60
She doesn't want to get dehydrated
Her smiles brightens her wrinkles
Her expectations have changed drastically
She wants a man who doesn't scare small children
A man who remembers where the bathroom is and knows why he is laughing
She is comfortable with a man who snores lightly and can stand up himself.
