Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Sunyani Municipality, who has joined the race for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary ticket for the Sunyani East Hon. Kwasi Oppong Ababio properly known as Adwuma wura, on Tuesday commissioned some schools and inspected ongoing projects being undertaken by the Assembly within the Municipality.
The projects commissioned included, two (2)-storey six 6-unit classroom blocks with ancillary facilities at Susec Model Junior High School, dining hall with kitchen for the Community Development School, Six 6-unit classroom blocks at SDA School and a 3-unit classroom block for Domsesere all in the Sunyani municipality.
Hon. Kwasi Oppong Ababio said the facilities would ensure that more children in the area get access to education and a better future through the acquisition of skills.
He promised to furnish the newly constructed schools and existing ones with mono desks to aid teaching and learning.
Madam Freda Opoku, Headistress of Susec Model Junior High School and SDA headmistress Madam Comfort Nyamekye, said their outfit would do their best to maintain the structure.
They also said the facility will help reduce the truancy rate among the school children and would be a source of encouragement for serious learning.
