Attend To Us - UEW-Ksi SRC Cries Out

The Students Representative Council President of the University of Education, Kumasi Campus has called for more attention to be given the to the University to enable it fulfil the purpose for which it was established. According to the SRC president Ebenezer Decker, the University, which is now a full fledged one awarding its own certificates and degrees faces a lot of problems which threatens its performance. Addressing a press conference today to begin the annual SRC Week, he said the university is often discriminated against, when it comes to resource allocation to public universities. He added that the University is also grappling with residential facilities, which has compelled over 77 percent of the total students' population to look for accommodation outside the campus which is very expensive.

He appealed to the government, NGO's, estate and private developers to come to their aid to help address the problem. He called on the public and other concerned groups to help the university to put a stop to the encroachment on the school's land by private developers. Mr Decker also urged the government to resolve the study-leave problem confr4onting second year business students on campus. He also spelt out activities earmarked to celebrate the SRC Week from the 12th to the 20th of this month under the theme, 'promoting quality standards in education, the role of the graduate
