Reasons Why The President May Not Visit The Suhum Constituency

Press Release Reasons Why The President May Not Visit The Suhum Constituency
OCT 27, 2016 LISTEN

The president of the republic, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is on a campaign commissioning tour of mediocre projects in the Eastern Region this week and next week. His visit to the region has witness changes in his itinerary and we are of the firm conviction that his challenge (difficulties) to enter the Suhum Constituency is chiefly the reason for the change in itinerary.

Nonetheless the changes, we the members of the above mentioned group have the belief that the president may not be able to enter our constituency or will do so deep in the night in order to avoid humiliation from Suhum electorates. Below are cogent reasons why our president finds it difficult to enter the Suhum Constituency which is also the home constituency of his own Chief of Staff.

To start with, the performance of the NDC government in the constituency over the last eight years has been nothing good to write home about. The NDC has not been able to sustain any of the pro -poor policies of Kuffour’s government which brought relief to the masses. In terms of projects the president cannot get any mono-mental project in the constituency to commission. The president has done virtually nothing in the constituency. What the people of Suhum have witnessed about president Mahama and his government is the incompetence and corruption of his administration and nothing else.

The next reason why the president is finding it difficult to enter our constituency is the failure of his own Chief of Staff in the constituency. The Chief of Staff, Hon. Julius Debrah, now Chief of Crime has totally failed the people of Suhum particularly the youth. Prior to the 2012 elections the Chief of Staff who was the parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the NDC promised the people of Suhum ‘heaven on earth’ if he is given the chance to serve in government.

He has had the chance to serve in government higher than the position he sought for but has failed to deliver in his own promises. He promised the youths jobs but as we speak he has not been able to help the youths in that direction. He has not been able to use his position to attract or lobby any government projects into the constituency.

The road from Suhum to Akorabo which is his village, constructed by Kuffour’s administration is now in a deplorable state and it doesn’t seem to bother or perturb him. Suhum is among the constituencies that has not benefited from the ongoing construction of community day Senior High Schools despite the fact that the Chief of Staff is a son of the constituency. Hon. Julius Debrah has proven to be a worthless son of the land by his inability to positively influence the lives of the people in the Constituency despite the chances he has had in the NDC government.

Another reason why the president finds it cumbersome to enter our constituency is the infantile political activities of the parliamentary candidate of the NDC in the constituency, Hon. Margaret Ansei who is the current MCE of Suhum Municipal. This woman has turned the once peaceful constituency into a war zone which has now been declared as a flash point by the Electoral Commission (EC) in the December elections.

The NDC is almost dead in the constituency because she lacks the ideas of how to sell herself and the party to the constituents. All she does is to eat, sleep, divert party funds and project funds into her personal bank accounts and instigate NDC youth (thugs) to go after hardworking political opponents disturbing the peace and security of the constituency. She has killed the NDC in the constituency with her childish actions and inactions.

We are sure that she is going to be the worst parliamentary candidate the NDC has ever presented in the Suhum Constituency. The eminent gargantuan defeat staring in the face of this ‘ADIDAS’ parliamentary candidate and the NDC is scaring the president from the constituency.

In conclusion we are putting it to the president, the NDC regional and constituency executives that if they have any success stories to tell Suhum electorates, then they should be bold and bring the president into the constituency during daylight. Any attempt to smuggle him through the constituency under the cover of darkness will only confirm the aforementioned well elaborated points. The wind of change is strongly blowing through the Suhum constituency and the electorates are poised up for actions come December 7th.

Long live Ghana
Long live Suhum constituency
Long live NPP
Thank you.
