Akim Akenkanor (E/R,) Oct. 20, GNA - Pastor Godsplan Tetteh Boateng, the Oda District Pastor of The Apostolic Church - Ghana, has called on pastors to opt to serve at remote places where their services are often needed.

He said preaching the gospel should not be limited to the urban centres alone but must be extended to the rural areas to improve the spiritual and physical wellbeing of the people.

Pastor Tetteh Boateng made the call at a send-off ceremony for Elder Gabriel Agyeman, the out-going Presiding Elder of The Apostolic Church - Ghana at Akim Akenkanor in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region.

Elder Gabriel Agyeman, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said he was sent to the local branch on June 18, 2007 with the church's population of 16 members under the administration of the Oda Area Pastor, Apostle C.K. Nartey.

Elder Agyeman said the church's number has grown to 40 members and had acquired 15 acres of land of which nine acres have been used for palm plantation.

He said the church has also bought musical instruments and a generator to enhance worship activities.

The out-going elder handed over the leadership of the church to Elder Isaac Essah.

Elder Essah expressed gratitude to Elder Agyeman for his efforts at helping the church to reach that far in its endeavours.

A citation was presented to Elder Agyeman.
