Nest’s Managing Partner in Africa, Aaron Fu has said that building the right partnerships goes beyond having great ideas and funding.

Speaking at the launch of the 2-day bootcamp for mobile tech startups where the partnership between Nest (Early-stage venture capital firm and global innovation accelerator) and MTN Solution Space was sealed at the University Of Cape Town Graduate School Of Business (UCT GSB) Mr. Aaron Fu said;

“Beyond great ideas and funding, developing the right partnerships is the important for startup to scale and take their innovation global.”

“Our partnership with MTN Solution Space leverages our combined strengths to help early-stage companies drive adoption of innovative solutions, runs proof-of-concepts with big corporations and access resources and support to take their business to the next level,” he added.

The bootcamp was designed purposely to help create a platform to bring startups together with telecoms from across Africa for potential integration opportunities.

Applications are now open via www.bootcamp.mobi for startups with innovative solutions in mobile commerce, entertainment, and financial management.

Founded in Hong Kong, Nest has presence in Nairobi, London, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, and Bangkok.

Adding her voice to the partnership with Nest, the Manager for MTN Solution Space, Sarah-Anne Arnold said, “The bootcamp offers unique access and insights from industry leaders, investors and successful entrepreneurs.”

‘Our partnership with MTN Group has enabled us to support startups on their journey to becoming the high growth businesses of tomorrow and we are delighted to be partnering with Nest, on this bootcamp which will provide much-needed support,” she noted.

The main aim of the MTN Solution Space is to inspire, nurture, and equip the next generation of leaders to build a better future.

In all, the eight companies that will be selected to participate in the program will present their solutions at AfricaCom. That is, the leading platform for networking, business development and showcasing within the telecoms, ICT and digital landscape on the continent.
