CPP not surprise about EC qualification

Accra, Oct. 11, GNA - Kadri Abdul Rauf, the Director of Communications of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), says the party is not surprised for going through the presidential nomination process very smoothly.

In an interview with Ghana News Agency, Mr Abdul Rauf said the Party worked hard and knew it would succeed.

'The kind of effort and seriousness that we put in the process, we have actually been working day and night to cross check our documents and ensuring we pay eagle eyes to all the documents we need to submit,'' he added.

Mr Abdul Rauf said the party was greatly excited on hearing the positive outcome to participate in the 2016 election.

He said the Party would run a humble campaign and to ensure that members visit every community, constituency in the country to sell their campaign message to the people.

He said the Party would put every level of seriousness that would be able to prosecute the election successful.

'Once the manifesto is launched we will move into action, we will bring our battalions together and ensure that, we get them motivated and give them the necessary logistics so that we can fight for the party as much as our strength can carry us.'

According to him, the Party's Manifesto is built around four thematic areas: Good governance, Economic policy, Social policy and International relations.

He said the manifesto's policies are informed by the ideology of Dr Kwame Nkrumah and would not be different from the Party's previous manifestoes.
