Kusi Gyaasehene donates to Akim Oda Hospital

Akim Oda (E/R), Feb. 22, GNA - The Gyaasehene of Akim Kusi in the Kwaebirim District, Nana Okoda-Darko I, on Tuesday donated a quantity of bed sheets, pillows and blankets valued at about eight million cedis to the female ward of the Akim Oda Government Hospital.

The presentation of the items followed his adoption of the ward. Speaking at the ceremony, Nana Okoda-Darko, a social worker based at East Hartford-State of Connecticut in the US, said the gesture was aimed at improving the conditions in the ward and also to ensure that women did not take bed sheets along with them when going on admission. He appealed to the government to ensure that women were taken good care of to enable them to look after their children who are the future leaders.

Nana Okoda-Darko also urged the government to improve the conditions of health professionals to help curb the brain drain among them. Miss Dorcas Bennett Lartey, a Staff Nurse at the hospital, who received the items on behalf of Management, thanked the donor for his efforts to help make the ward one of the best in the country.
