Police advised against indiscriminate use of firearms

Pwalugu (U/E) Feb 18, GNA- Mr John K. Yali, Upper East Regional Police Commander, has cautioned police personnel against the indiscriminate use of weapons.

He said firearms were given to them to facilitate their work and not to terrorize or endanger the lives of innocent people. Mr Yali gave the advice at the closing ceremony of a three-month refresher course for 77 constables at the Regional Police Training School at Pwalugu near Bolgatanga.

He called on the personnel to exercise tolerance in the face of extreme provocation.

Mr Yali advised them to eschew aggression, hatred, vindictiveness, drunkenness and other social vices, which affected the image of the Police Service. 18 Feb. 05
