Senya Beraku, (C/R) Feb. 16, GNA - The Presiding member of the Awutu-Effutu-Senya District Assembly Mr. Kwesi Esseku has appealed to the government to make available adequate funds and logistics to strengthen unit committees, town and urban councils.

Mr. Esseku made the appeal during a meeting with various local government sub structures at Senya Beraku at the weekend to resolve some of the issues impeding their work.

The meeting identified lack of adequate financial and other resources as the major constrains militating against the effective and efficient operations of the various sub-structures.

He said sub-structures should be properly resourced in order to play the required complementary roles to help the various district, municipal and metropolitan assemblies as enshrined in the constitution.

Mr. Esseku however, advised members of the sub-structures to rekindle their working spirit in spite of their shortfalls while the assemblies were making efforts to address the situation.

The presiding member shared the sentiments of the sub structures in the district and expressed the hope that the call would help provide a better solution to the problems confronting the sub structures.

Mr. Esseku called for co-operation among members of the various unit committees, town, area, urban and municipal councils so that, they could share ideas and experiences to improve the lot of the people in their areas of operation.
