Simpoah (E/R), Sept. 19, GNA - The rehabilitation of the 20.7 kilometer road from Yaw Tenkorang to Sempoah in the Kwahu East District is almost completed.

The road when completed is expected to help support the transportation of foodstuffs from the area to the marketing centres in the Kwahu area.

This came to light when Nana Antwi Siaw, the Kwahu East District Chief Executive, inspected the progress of work on the road.

The project, which is 90 per cent complete, is being funded by the District Development Fund (DDF).

Nana Siaw said most of the people in the area are farmers and are into the production of cereals, legumes and tubers and as a result of the bad roads in the area many farmers encountered difficulties in conveying their produce to the market centres.

He said this has led to the rehabilitation of the road to ensure the easy movement of goods and services in the area.

The DCE said while the government is fulfilling his promises to better the lot of the people, there is the need for the people to also reciprocate by honoring their tax obligations.

Nana Siaw commended the contractor for a good work done and promised to do more to better the lives of the people in the Simpoah community. GNA
