Begoro, Jan 31, GNA - Three officers of the Fanteakwa District office of the Ghana National Fire Service escaped death when the vehicle on which they were travelling skidded-off the road and hit a tree on the Begoro-Dedesawirako road.
The District Fire Officer, Mr Agyapong Dwemoh, told Ghana News Agency that the three officers were travelling to Dedesawirako on an anti-bush fire campaign last Tuesday when the accident occurred. He said the officers received minor injuries and were treated and discharged at the Begoro Hospital.
Mr Dwemoh appealed to the government to provide the District Fire Office with a fire tender to facilitate movement of staff on official assignments, especially during the dry season when bushfires are rampant in the district.
