Nyinahin (Ash), Jan. 26, GNA - Collins Kwarteng Asamoah, a 28-year-old Rastafarian has been granted five million cedis bail by the Nyinahin Magistrate Court for damaging the windscreen of Mr Isaac Assiamah, Member of Parliament (MP) for Atwima-Mponua constituency in Ashanti.

His plea was not taken and will re-appear on February 15. Police Chief Inspector Dan Mensah told the court that on January 15, this year, at about 1600 hours, the MP was on his way back to Kumasi from attending the "Yentetu" festival at Nyinahin, when the Rastafarian emerged from the bush, attacked him and destroyed the windscreen of his car.

He said the MP with the assistance of some residents of Betinko near Adiembra managed to arrest Asamoah and handed him over to the Adiembra police.

Chief Inspector Mensah said it was the fifth time Asamoah had destroyed the windscreens of vehicles in the area within two months.
