Accra Metropolitan Assembly salutes Hearts


Accra, Jan. 14, GNA - The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has sent a congratulatory message to Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club for their historic feat in the Confederation Cup competition. Hearts last Sunday became champions of the novelty competition when they defeated Kotoko 8-7 on penalties after the two legs have ended two all.

In a statement signed by Mr Noel Arcton-Tettey, Public Relations Officer of the AMA, it said that "the AMA notes with pride and admiration the recent victory of Hearts in the finals of the Confederation Cup match against Kumasi Asante Kotoko last Sunday at the Kumasi Sports Stadium".

"The assembly therefore wishes to encourage the management and the playing body of Hearts to keep up the Phobian spirit and team work to achieve more laurels", the statement added. The Assembly also commended Kotoko for their good sportsmanship and wish them better luck next time.
