Akropong (Ash), Jan. 13, GNA - The Atwima District office of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has presented 20 bags of cement, three packets of roofing sheets 20 student mattresses and 20 blankets to the Akropong Health Centre in the Atwima District. The presentation followed the destruction caused to some buildings at the Health Centre in a recent rainstorm.

Mr Joe Kofi Adu, the Atwima District NADMO Co-ordinator who presented the items to the Centre assured the authorities that his outfit would plant trees around the hospital to serve as windbreaks. Mrs Rita Kusi Appiah, Principal Medical Officer in charge of the Health Centre who received the items, thanked the NADMO for the gesture. She appealed to the government for an ambulance as most motor accident cases on the Kumasi-Sunyani road were first sent to the Health Centre.

Mrs Kusi Appiah further asked the Atwima District Assembly to assist in the completion of a nurses' quarters and maternity block. In a related development, the District NADMO office has presented blankets, student mattresses to Buruli Ulcer patients at Ntobroso and 20 bags of cement for the completion of the nurses' quarters of the Ntobroso Health Centre.
