GNA

Tema, Jan. 13, GNA - An unemployed man who stole a video deck and other items from the Tema main branch of Barclays Bank has been sentenced to two years imprisonment in hard labour by the Tema circuit court 'B'. Iddrisu Mohammed pleaded guilty on two counts of unlawful entry and stealing.

Inspector Ben Agbedanu told the court that on November 22, 2004 a policeman spotted the accused coming from the Community One Market holding some items.

When questioned as to where he got the video deck and five pieces of cloth from he responded that he took them from Barclays Bank. Mohammed said he passed through the market, climbed some stores and entered the bank through the window. ''Security men at the bank pass through the same place to remove items.''
