GNA

Techiman (B/A), Jan 12, GNA - Child labour has become a social issue in Techiman and this requires the efforts of all stakeholders to curb it, said Mr John Owusu Asante, General Manager of ASTA FM Radio Station in Techiman.

He said the station has drawn up a programme to help take the children off the streets and markets.

Mr Asante said the Business Sector Advocacy Centre (BUSAC) Fund had provided funds to the radio station to undertake activities to eliminate from the Techiman.

He explained that the programme that would be launched this January is aimed at educating the populace on the dangers of child labour in the Techiman Central Market.

Mr Asante appealed to stakeholders and well-meaning citizens in the municipality to be part of the programme to help combat child labour in the society.
