People of Aowin Traditional Area congratulate Speaker


Accra, Jan. 10, GNA - The people of Aowin Traditional Area in the Western Region have congratulated the new Speaker of Parliament, Mr Ebenezer Begyina Sekyi-Hughes, on his election to the high office. In a statement issued in Accra on Monday Odeneho Nana Brentu IV, Omanhene of the Aowin Traditional Area, expressed the hoped that Mr Sekyi Hughes would bring his vast legal experience to bear on his new office.

He said Mr Sekyi-Hughes had played a very important role as a Member of the Council of State and had also provided help to the Western Region.

Odeneho Brentu pledged the unflinching support of the people of the area in his new assignment.

He also commended Parliament for accepting him as the new Speaker and said that the people of Aowin had no doubt that Mr Sekyi-Hughes would measure up to the task ahead. Odeneho Brentu also wished President John Agyekum Kufuor and his Government well in the coming years.
