Inferiority Complex: The Hazard That Must Be Avoided

Listen to article

Inferiority complex simply means lack of self-worth, a doubt and uncertainty, and feelings of not measuring up to standards. It is often subconscious, and is thought to drive afflicted individuals to overcompensate, resulting either in spectacular achievement or extreme asocial behavior.

This deadly feeling start to arise when one starts to compare his or herself to people of class or persons ahead them in life. Inferiority complex is a feeling that must not be entertained in our life's as it has the tendency or the capacity to curtail any other good thing you have within you as a person.

People feel worthless in terms of beauty, height, complexion, disabilities, education, amongst others. People feel inferior to their fellow human beings in the areas I mentioned. For instance, someone might feel inferior to the colleague when he realized he is no where close to the colleague in terms of education.

Inferiority complex comes with intimidation. They feel intimidated if they have to express themselves around. This is exactly what kills the spirit preventing you from showing the world the good stuff you are made of because of the fear that someone somewhere will watch their action and judge them.

Sometimes, the physical and emotional abuse people go through can have serious repercussion on them making them believe they are not of class or less deserving.

I agree with the famous Eleanor Roosevelt's quote that "No one can make you feel inferior without your content" Everybody is unique in their own way. I mean everyone has his or her own way of doing things. When you don't do things the way people want, then they begin to show their superiority and when you feel intimidated by their actions, that is exactly when you start to feel less deserving and not up to standard.

If you ask me, I will say the deadly thing called inferiority complex comes from once own personal demeanour and other peoples attitude towards you.

You must hold yourself in high esteem not being proud or pompous. You have a every reason to consider yourself as one of the best on planet Earth.

If you feel less important and has nothing best to offer, how do u think the person who has held him or herself in high esteem will treat you?

The fact is people are free to talk about you especially when it is a calculated attempt to defame you or to bring your name to disrepute. Inferiority complex can send You to the grave if You continue to have emotional thinking that you are not of value and has nothing to offer society.

You don't need to pretend in order to please them or win their heart.when you continue to be yourself, the right people will come in your life. Just identify your weaknesses and work on them.

Fortunately, there are a lot of things one can do to curtail or overcome Inferiority complex which is eating deep into some people.

You have to learn to appreciate yourself. My brother and my sister, if you don't learn to appreciate yourself, who else will appreciate you? Appreciate your personality. Unfortunately, people will criticize you for some of the things you cannot change. For instance, disabilities, sexual orientation, your looks, complexion amongst many others. Love yourself like you love your friends. Show and value yourself and you will be fine.

Learn to identify your flaws and do the necessary corrections. All of us have our weaknesses, identify yours and start working on them asap.

Avoid cogitating on your past mistakes. Avoid thinking more about some minor mistakes you have committed in the past. Learn to forgive yourself and strive on.

you must be confident enough to overcome inferiority complex. Believe and have confidence in whatever you do. Don't watch back thinking people are critiquing you.

Avoid the company of friends who do not offer constructive criticisms. There are friends who sees nothing good in you and will make mockery of your imperfections without helping you to overcome them.

Finally, learning to accept your strengths and your flaws is another factor to pay attention to. You have to accept and respect what makes you different from others (uniqueness ) and show much enthusiasm about things you have achieved and those that you are yearning to achieve. Don't give room for friends or colleagues who doubt your capabilities. Remember to always move with friends who believe in your dreams.
