PAP Rallies Support For NPP At Tepa
05.06.2016 LISTEN

A 12-member contingent of Patriotic Ambassadors for Peace (PAP) was at Tepa in the Ahafo-Ano North Constituency, Ashanti over the weekend for a 3-day outreach progamme.

Led by its leader, Katakyie Kwame Opoku Agyemang, and the Director of Organisation, Andy Oppong, PAP members left for Tepa on Friday morning and returned on Sunday evening (27th-29th May). The members were drawn from the Northern, Brong-Ahafo, Ashanti, and Greater Accra Regions.

This was in line with PAP's objective of canvassing for votes for Nana Addo and Suleman Adamu Sanid (NPP PC) to win the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. It was an exercise worth-taken because the impact on the electorate after PAP's visit cannot be overemphasised. This is seen in the hurriedly manner in which the NDC flooded the town with their Candidate's posters a day after PAP's visit.

It is the belief of PAP that, the Elephant, a huge and heavy animal had fallen for the past eight (8) and cannot be lifted up by just an individual such as Nana Akufo-Addo or Dr. Bawumia, but requires a collective effort and more hands.

It is against this backdrop that PAP, a Volunteer Group, stormed the Tepa township to interact with the residents to vote for the NPP. The target groups were the market women, dressmakers, funeral attendants, drivers, the Zongo Community, Christians, students and the ordinary people.

Whilst canvassing for votes for Nana Addo and Mr. Suleman Sanid as president and Member of Parliament for the Constituency respectively, PAPers (as they are usually called), based their outreach pprogramme on SWOT analysis. That is, Team PAP looked at the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats of the NPP in the Tepa township.

After the 3-day programme, it emerged that the NPP stands a better chance of winning the parliamentary seat back because of the Candidate the party is presenting this year. Mr. Suleman Adamu Sanid, a Kusasi by tribe is a down to earth politician. His humility, academic prowess, vision, and achievements are incomparable to any of his contestants. Suleman's personal appeal cuts across the political, ethnic, religious, and social divides in the Constituency.

A holder of MBA Marketing from the Central University College in Ghana, Suleman has been working with the VRA since 1999 in various capacities, such as in Administration and Human Resource. A graduate from Tepa SHS, and University of Ghana, Mr. Sanid was born into a Muslim family, but now a Christian (Presbyterian) and thus has a strong affiliation and bond with both Islamic and Christian teachings.

Thus, with this rich background and practical campaigning as being undertaken by PAP, coupled with the economic hardship facing the residents, the NPP will definitely emerge victorious at Tepa with a bigger vote margin against the NDC.

The biggest threat, however, is the sponsorship of an Independent Candidate by the NDC. Known as Dr. Bright Obeng, this NDC man in disguise is targeting the NPP votes with the view to helping Hon. Akwasi Adusei, a Basare by tribe who doubles as the incumbent MP and PC for the NDC in the Constituency to retain the seat.

However, the Youth, who were nearly deceived by the Independent Candidate's cunning assertion of being a former NPP member, vowed to campaign and vote for Nana Addo and Suleman Sanid after Dr. Obeng was exposed.

Over 50 people expressed interest in joining PAP so that they could also be used as a vessel of change in November. One significant thing that convinced Team PAP that a change is imminent in November was the warm hospitality given to us by the people of Tepa. Upon seeing these gallant young men and women in their specially designed PAP- T-shirts, the shouts of "Nana Addo wo Krom", to wit, Nana Addo is in town dominated all the places we passed such as the churches, funerals, market, and the Zongos.

PAPers would therefore like to appeal to all patriotic Ghanaians to involve themselves and arise for change in November in order to end the era of corruption, mediocrity, high utility tariffs, power outages, economic hardship, graduate unemployed, lies, and thievery that have been institutionalised under the Mahama regime.

Let's campaign and vote massively for Nana Addo and NPP Parliamentary Candidates to change the tide. For, if for nothing at all, our party is blessed with an incorruptible and visionary leader, who could assemble the finest expertise in this country to manage our resources for our benefit.

God bless Ghana! God bless Nana Addo!! God bless Suleman Sanid!!!
