Kumasi, Jan 6, GNA- Mr Kwame Boateng, the Convention People's Party (CPP) parliamentary candidate for Nhyiaeso constituency, in Election 2004, is contesting for the position of Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive.

Mr Boateng, holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration (Finance and Policy) from the University of Southern California in the US.

Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Wednesday, Mr Boateng said his decision to enter the race was in response to the call by President John Agyekum Kufuor in 2001 for "an all- inclusive government".

He said he was determined to put his expertise and skills at the service of the nation, adding that he was also prepared to serve in any capacity, which the President think might serve the interest of the nation.

Mr Boateng said Ghana now needed diverse talents, skills and expertise devoid of political, ethnic and religious inclinations to speed up its developmental agenda.
